Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, welcomed Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid Bukhari at Dar al-Fatwa. Ambassador Bukhari extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to the Mufti and discussed Lebanese affairs.
According to Dar al-Fatwa’s media office, Ambassador Bukhari reaffirmed “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness on seeing Lebanon secure, stable, and united under the authority of the state and its legitimate institutions, in line with the Taif Agreement.”
Bukhari further stressed that “Lebanon’s strength lies in its national unity and cooperation with its Arab brothers and international friends.”
For his part, Mufti Derian said Lebanon was entering “a new phase of constructive domestic and international engagement following the election of a president and the formation of a government.” He emphasized the importance of fostering cooperation, solidarity, and mutual trust to help Lebanon emerge from its deepening crises.
“Saudi Arabia has always been at the forefront of nations supporting Lebanon and its people across all fields. The Kingdom remains a cornerstone of stability for all Arab countries, including Lebanon.”
