Morcos honors late artist Fouad Aouad in recognition of cultural legacy

In a tribute to the pioneers who enriched Lebanon’s artistic and official media landscape, Minister of Information Paul Morcos honored late artist Fouad Aouad in a ceremony held at Tele Liban’s studios in Hazmieh.

During the event, Minister Morcos presented the “Tele Liban Shield” to Aouad’s daughter, actress Nadine Aouad, and his son Emile, in the presence of Télé Liban’s Program Director Haitham Kalout and media personality Robert Frangieh.

The recognition celebrates Fouad Aouad’s multifaceted artistic journey, including his iconic television and theatrical role as “Fares Ibn Em Fares,” his work as a composer and oud virtuoso, and his contributions as a painter and author of scholarly references on music and the oud—many of which are housed in university and music libraries.

Expressing her gratitude, Nadine Aouad praised the Minister’s thoughtful gesture, describing it as “a refined initiative that reflects loyalty to great figures.”

She added: “The episode of Album Al-Asala with journalist Robert Frangieh on Tele Liban documented my father’s legacy across disciplines and preserved the imprint of his art for future generations.”
