Fanar Municipality: The Tunnel’s Target Is Gold!
The Fanar Municipality issued the following statement:
After receiving reports of suspicious activity in a wooded area within the town, a police patrol inspected the site and discovered a tunnel under construction.
The municipality then contacted the relevant authorities and Army Intelligence. Specialized teams, accompanied by engineering units, arrived at the scene and inspected the tunnel.
According to security agency reports, the excavation was intended to search for gold, and the tunnel does not lead to any other exit.
The municipality is working with the Lebanese army to take the necessary measures to seal the tunnel.
