Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hussein Hajj Hassan warned Lebanese authorities against yielding to US pressure, describing Washington’s involvement in domestic affairs as a threat to Lebanon’s sovereignty and security.
Speaking at a memorial ceremony, Hajj Hassan criticized government decisions concerning Hezbollah’s weapons, warning authorities against measures that could heighten internal tensions.
He accused Washington of interfering in Lebanon’s judiciary and legislative affairs, citing US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s communications with President Joseph Aoun and the US ambassador’s alleged efforts to repeal Lebanon’s Israel boycott law.
Hajj Hassan also accused the government of abandoning previous understandings concerning Hezbollah and its weapons.
