Lebanese Higher Judicial Council President and Court of Cassation Chief Justice Souheil Abboud signed a judicial cooperation memorandum of understanding with his Moroccan counterpart, Mohammed Abdennabaoui, First President of Morocco’s Court of Cassation and President Delegate of the Supreme Council of the Judicial Power, in Rabat.
The agreement provides for exchanging judicial rulings, legal research, and judicial and administrative expertise. Lebanon’s Chargée d’Affaires in Morocco, Ambassador Hala Kayrouz, attended the signing.
The agreement coincided with Abboud’s participation, as Vice President of the Association of Francophone Supreme Courts (AHJUCAF), in judicial meetings held in Rabat from October 13 to 16, accompanied by Court of Cassation Judge Rodney Daou.
The Lebanese delegation also attended the October 14–15 conference titled Justice and Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges.
During the conference, Daou presented findings from two exploratory trials examining the use of artificial intelligence in Lebanon’s judiciary.
Abboud also chaired the committee overseeing AHJUCAF’s 2026 Prize for the Promotion of Law.
Following the conference, Daou participated in the association’s Scientific Council meeting, which discussed a preliminary joint ethical charter governing the use of artificial intelligence in courts.
