Grand Mufti Daryan meets NSSF chief, CDR President
Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic Sheikh Abdul Latif Daryan received National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Board Chairman Bechara Asmar and an accompanying delegation at Dar al-Fatwa.
Following the meeting, Asmar said the delegation briefed Daryan on developments at the NSSF following the formation of its new board of directors.
He outlined efforts to expand medical and hospitalization coverage, extend social security benefits to additional segments of the Lebanese population, and restructure end-of-service compensation for employees who left their jobs after 2019 and saw the value of their benefits eroded.
Asmar conveyed Daryan’s full support for the NSSF and its new board, adding that the Grand Mufti expressed hope that the fund would restore its benefits to their 2019 levels.
Separately, Daryan received Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) President Mohammad Ali Kabbani, who briefed him on the council’s ongoing activities, projects and future development plans.
Daryan wished Kabbani continued success in carrying out his responsibilities.
