Minister of Finance Yassine Jaber received in his office Swiss Ambassador to Lebanon Nicole Ruder, with whom he discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the region, bilateral relations, and ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic and financial fields.
They also discussed the reform process being pursued by the government and the challenges facing Lebanon at the present stage.
The discussion also touched on prospects for further developing cooperation and benefiting from Swiss expertise in a number of fields, in light of the longstanding ties between the two countries, as well as the importance of supporting Lebanon along its recovery and reform path and strengthening the capacity of its institutions.
On the other hand, in a virtual meeting, Minister Jaber discussed with Egyptian Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Egypt and ways to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise between the two countries’ ministries of finance, particularly in the areas of public financial management, fiscal policies, tax and customs policies, and digital transformation.
They also discussed ways to develop financial administration and improve revenue and expenditure management, modernize systems and services, and enhance technical cooperation between the two ministries, allowing both sides to benefit from the Egyptian experience and Lebanese expertise and to exchange knowledge on areas of mutual interest.
