Lebanese judicial authorities are stepping up investigations into an international drug network whose members were arrested in August 2026.
MTV has learned that the intensive investigation has led to the arrest of 40 members of the network, both Lebanese and foreign nationals.
According to the information, the network was run by an individual residing in Belgium who closely monitored the activities of his group in Lebanon. The group was tasked with manufacturing new types of narcotic pills for the Lebanese market, with production taking place in several areas across the country.
MTV has learned that Mount Lebanon Public Prosecutor Judge Sami Sader ordered the closure of more than 15 facilities and residential apartments across Lebanon, where the narcotic pills were allegedly manufactured by so-called “cooks” and stored in residential apartments.
The group would then distribute and promote the pills, with its facilities and apartments extending from Ashrafieh, Corniche al-Mazraa, Bchamoun and Baabda to southern Lebanon.
The investigation also revealed that the network deliberately manufactured narcotic pills targeting teenagers and distributed them at private parties. According to MTV, detainees admitted during questioning that the pills had been distributed to young men and women at private gatherings held at luxury villas and entertainment venues.
The investigation further found that a large number of these parties were secretly organized in different parts of Lebanon to attract as many teenagers as possible, with the pills being distributed during the events.
Sources said Judge Sami Sader has been closely following the case at every stage, given the seriousness of the network and its impact on Lebanese society. The network is considered one of the most dangerous drug networks operated from outside Lebanon.
The sources added that Sader is preparing to bring charges against the members of the network once the investigation is fully completed.
