Aoun: Lebanon took the initiative to promote economic cooperation among Arab countries
President Joseph Aoun said that Lebanon took the initiative to call for economic cooperation among Arab countries, modeled on the European Common Market, which later evolved into the European Union.
President Aoun, speaking to a delegation from the Arab Mashreq Forum headed by Nasser Al-Khalil, stressed that Lebanon is keen to keep the headquarters of specialized Arab unions in Beirut, despite the difficult circumstances it has gone through and continues to face.
