MP Edgard Traboulsi wrote on X: Who is behind the education ministers in Lebanon, France and Spain? Should we follow a transnational conspiracy theory, or accept that education ministers are pursuing misguided policies that undermine public education?
There, students and their parents took to the streets. Here, our students and their parents are reasonable and limit themselves to standing sadly at school gates, holding up signs that the ministry does not see.
We still do not have teachers in schools and secondary schools because the ministry has not processed their files. Some secondary schools are still barred from completing enrollment for Lebanese students while keeping their doors open to Syrians.
Tomorrow, students will move to private schools. This will only reinforce the minister’s position and make private school owners happy.
Will the objections seen in Paris and Madrid reach Beirut?
