Aoun receives invitation to Capuchin Order Jubilee celebration
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun afternoon received at Baabda palace, the Superior General of the Capuchin Order in Lebanon and the Near East, Father Elie Rahme, who headed a delegation from the order.
The delegation invited President Aoun to attend a celebration marking the grand jubilee of 400 years of the Capuchin Order’s presence and mission in Lebanon and the Near East, to be held on Saturday, October 24, at St. Louis Cathedral in downtown Beirut.
President Aoun welcomed the delegation, praising the Order’s commitment to its humanitarian and faith-based mission in the region in general and in Lebanon in particular.
Aoun also commended the Order’s role in the social, educational, cultural, and pastoral fields, as well as its efforts to promote the values of coexistence within society.
The President stressed the need to preserve the legacy the Order has built across various fields and pass it on to future generations, calling for strengthening its role in promoting the values of solidarity, love, and dialogue among citizens.
