Aoun holds a series of meetings
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun met Defense Minister Major General Michel Menassa for talks on the security situation across Lebanon, particularly in the South, and the Lebanese Army’s missions in southern areas.
The meeting also addressed the Army’s needs that will be presented at a preparatory meeting in Paris on Thursday ahead of the international conference to support the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces.
President Aoun also received MP Ihab Matar, who said discussions covered development files concerning Tripoli and North Lebanon.
Matar praised Aoun’s efforts to safeguard Lebanon’s interests, consolidate sovereignty and address citizens’ concerns, particularly through his Arab and international engagement. He also said the adoption of the general amnesty law had brought justice to a large number of people who had been unfairly treated.
