Despite threats of protests... Complete calm outside Zahle Serail
Public administrations and departments at Zahle Serail continue to operate normally, amid complete calm around the Serail, after little response was recorded to a call by a number of activists to protest outside the Serail over living conditions, high costs and rising prices.
The call aimed to organize a protest demanding improved living and economic conditions, but the demonstration drew little to no turnout, while employees and visitors continued to move about as usual.
Security forces remain deployed inside the Serail as a precaution, under the directives of Brig. Gen. Nadim Abdel Masih, commander of the Bekaa Regional Area of the Internal Security Forces.
