Labor Minister: Foreign labor in bakeries to be regulated, new NSSF board soon
Minister of Labor Mohammed Haidar stressed, following his meeting with President of the Republic Joseph Aoun, the need to enforce the law and regulate foreign labor in the bakery sector in a manner that ensures legal employment and safeguards food security.
Minister Haidar added: We also discussed regulating the external transport and trucking sector, and we are awaiting a working paper from the unions on this matter, particularly in light of the reopening of Gulf markets, especially the Saudi market.
Haidar also noted: We have reached the final stages of forming a new Board of Directors for the National Social Security Fund and we will soon submit it to the Council of Ministers for approval- for the first time in more than 25 years.
