Lebanon Braces for Heat Wave as Humidity Adds to the Sweltering Weather
The Meteorological Department at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation expects typical summer weather to prevail over Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin, with temperatures remaining within seasonal averages until Saturday.
Starting Saturday, the region will be affected by relatively hot air masses originating from the Arabian Peninsula, leading to a rise in temperatures, particularly in mountainous and inland areas. High humidity levels along the coast will further increase the feeling of heat.
Weather forecast in Lebanon:
Friday: Partly cloudy skies with no significant change in temperatures along the coast, while a slight rise is expected inland and in mountainous areas. Humidity levels will remain high along the coast, with dense fog forming at times over mid-altitude mountains from the afternoon.
Saturday: Clear to partly cloudy skies, with fog over the mountains. Temperatures will continue to rise in high-altitude and inland areas, exceeding seasonal averages, while high coastal humidity will intensify the heat.
Sunday: Partly cloudy weather with fog over higher elevations. Temperatures will rise further in mountainous and inland regions, while remaining unchanged along the coast amid high humidity and increased heat perception.
Monday: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, with a further rise in temperatures. Humid weather will persist along the coast, increasing the feeling of heat. Winds may become occasionally active, with fog developing at times over mid-altitude areas.
Visibility: Moderate along the coast, deteriorating after noon in mountainous areas due to dense fog.
