Secretary General of Tourism and Trade Unions Federation Jean Beiruti said that “lasting stability is the foundation for the prosperity of tourism and the economy,” adding that improvements in bookings had already begun to be felt following the signing of the agreement, with hotel reservations rising by between 30% and 40%.
Speaking after a meeting with a delegation with President Joseph Aoun, Beiruti said: “We presented the president with an initiative to support Middle East Airlines flights from Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq through promotional fares, with the aim of attracting more Arab tourists to Lebanon and reviving the tourism season.”
