Al-Khatib announces beginning of Shawwal on March 19
The Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, has called for the sighting of the Shawwal moon for the year 1447 on Thursday evening, 29 Ramadan, corresponding to March 19, 2026.
Sheikh Al-Khatib urged anyone who sees the crescent moon to either attend or contact the Council’s headquarters in Hazmieh, where a religious meeting will be held for this purpose.
