Parliament Speaker Nabih berri received Minister of Public Health Rakan Nasreddine, at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh.
The discussion reportedly touched on the latest political and field developments, the Ministry of Public Health's work programs to address the repercussions of the Israeli aggression at the health and hospital levels, and the overall state of the country’s healthcare sector amid the escalating Israeli aggression.
Following the meeting, Nasreddine said that the toll from Israeli aggression has reached 957 martyrs and 2,391 wounded so far, with figures being continuously updated by the Ministry of Health.
He added: I briefed the Speaker on the health efforts we are undertaking in public and private hospitals to treat the wounded and provide medical care to the displaced. I also briefed him on the work being carried out by the Ministry of Health’s team in providing healthcare services to the displaced, in cooperation with local and international associations.
Speaker Berri also met in Ain el-Tineh with Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, former Minister Talal Arslan, with whom he followed up on the general situation and the political and field developments in light of the escalating Israeli aggression against Lebanon, in addition to the issue of displaced persons.
On emerging, Arslan expressed support for Speaker Berri and his wisdom in all political approaches that preserve the country, its unity and the unity of state institutions.
Arslan also highlighted the paramount importance of internal national unity.
Berri also discussed the latest developments during his meeting with Minister of State for Administrative Development Affairs Fadi Makki.
