Prime Minister Nawaf Salam arrived in Baalbek as part of an official tour of the Northern Bekaa region, according to a statement posted on the official X account of the Grand Serail.
The visit began at the Al-Shaaibeh post in Baalbek outskirts, followed by a stop at the Bou Fares border station near Syria, where the prime minister reviewed ongoing military and security efforts aimed at securing Lebanon’s borders and curbing smuggling activities.
At Bou Fares, Prime Minister Salam held a meeting with Lebanese Army officers and personnel, during which he was briefed on the latest border protection measures. He praised the troops’ dedication, calling them “the nation’s shield and a symbol of sacrifice and loyalty in safeguarding Lebanon and its people.”
Accompanying Prime Minister Salam on the tour are Minister of Defense General Michel Menassa, Minister of Interior Brigadier General Ahmad Hajjar, and Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamny.
