Hankach to MTV: The resistance is an armed group operating outside the law
MP Elias Hankach stressed that the resistance is an armed group operating outside the law, in accordance with government decisions.
Anyone who disagrees with these decisions should resign from the government. He added that an international decision had been made on the exclusive control of weapons, that only the Lebanese army is defending Lebanon, and that weapons have brought nothing but misery to the country.
Speaking on MTV’s Sar el Wa2et program, Hankach continued: Hezbollah provoked the aggression and gave Israel a pretext to destroy the south, and it is still waiting for orders from Iran. He said that Lebanon must pursue the path of negotiations and that everyone should welcome Ambassador Nada Hamadeh Mouawad at the airport, as she had kept it off the target list for strikes.
Hankach also said that the Lebanese army is going through a transitional phase, which is why Lebanon still needs UNIFIL.
