The meeting was also attended by Progressive Socialist Party General Secretary Zafer Nasser, and MP Taymour Jumblatt’s Advisor, Houssam Harb.

The discussion touched on the general situation in Lebanon, as well as political and field developments in light of Israel’s continued attacks on the country, in addition to various national and legislative matters.

Speaker Berri also received at Ain el-Tineh, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Saeed Khatibzadeh and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Chargé d'Affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon, Tawfiq Samadi.

The discussion touched on the general developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Iran.

Khatibzadeh said following the meeting: I conveyed my warmest wishes to the Lebanese people and to Lebanon, this great country with which we share longstanding, cordial relations at various levels.

Khatibzadeh added: Such exchanges of visits between the two countries are the least that can be expected within the framework of bilateral relations, not only to exchange views but also to further enhance coordination between us.

Speaker Berri also received Water and Energy Minister Joe Saddi, with whom he discussed the latest developments and the general situation, particularly the state of the electricity sector and the Ministry’s work programs in this regard.
