Kanaan backs Aoun’s negotiation approach
MP Ibrahim Kanaan wrote on X that President Joseph Aoun’s position on direct negotiations, the framework agreement, strengthening the Lebanese Army’s capabilities and preserving its role was, in his view, constitutional, national and responsible.
Kanaan said the approach currently represented the only available path for Lebanon to seek to restore stability, state authority and sovereignty over its territory and institutions.
Whoever has another practical solution should put it on the table. Otherwise, they should stand behind the president and support his position, for the sake of the people and the country, he wrote.
