Photo: Aoun visits St. George Cathedral to offer condolences to Camille Chamoun on his father’s passing
President Joseph Aoun, accompanied by his adviser, retired Brigadier General Andre Rahal, arrived at St. George Maronite Cathedral in downtown Beirut to offer his condolences to MP Camille Chamoun and his family following the death of his father, former National Liberal Party leader and former MP Dory Chamoun.
Members of the late Chamoun’s family were there to receive President Aoun, who expressed his condolences and sympathy, recalling Dory Chamoun’s national and political career and describing his passing as a loss for the Lebanese political scene.
Condolences for Dory Chamoun are being received at the cathedral’s reception hall, with political figures, members of the public and other Lebanese figures in attendance to offer their condolences to the Chamoun family.
