President Joseph Aoun expressed deep satisfaction with the discussions at the preparatory Paris meeting for the conference to support the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, held today at the Invalides in Paris. He highly praised the efforts of French President Emmanuel Macron and Jordan’s King Abdullah II in preparing for the meeting and their continued commitment to supporting Lebanon during this critical stage in its history.
Aoun also thanked the countries and international organizations that took part in the meeting, saying their participation reflects the importance they attach to Lebanon.
Before leaving Paris for Beirut, Aoun expressed hope that the needs of the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, as outlined in reports presented by the Lebanese delegation, would receive the necessary support from brotherly and friendly countries and organizations, helping strengthen the capabilities of the two institutions and enabling them to carry out their national duties.
The president also reaffirmed Lebanon’s national principles, foremost among them protecting national sovereignty, preserving national dignity, and ensuring that weapons remain exclusively in the hands of the Lebanese state. He stressed the Lebanese Army’s central role in extending state authority across the country, particularly in the south following its liberation, in a way that strengthens stability and safeguards national unity.
