The Lebanese Parliament resumed its legislative session earlier today, chaired by Speaker Nabih Berri and attended by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, ministers, and MPs.
Parliament approved a draft law aimed at amending the first and second paragraphs of Article 42 of Legislative Decree No. 102/83 related to the Civil Defense Law. The amendment increases the duration of military academy training from three to four years, allowing graduates to obtain equivalent degrees and qualifications in three specializations.
MPs also approved a draft law amending Paragraph 4 of Article 58 of Legislative Decree No. 102/83 related to the National Defense Law, allowing officers holding higher education degrees to practice the teaching profession.
Parliament further approved a draft law aimed at increasing Lebanon’s share in the capital of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
