President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received a phone call this afternoon from Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker, who expressed his country's support for Lebanon amid the current circumstances it is going through, and its backing for the positions adopted by President Aoun to safeguard Lebanon’s sovereignty and extend the authority of the state across its entire territory up to the borders.
Chancellor Stocker also expressed Austria's readiness to assist Lebanon in areas it deems necessary, in line with the priorities set by the Lebanese government.
President Aoun thanked Chancellor Stocker for his supportive positions toward Lebanon, affirming his commitment to strengthening Lebanese-Austrian relations across various fields. Aoun stressed that efforts are ongoing to end the war on Lebanon, secure the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and deploy the Lebanese Army along the southern border to enable displaced residents of villages and towns to return to their homes.
During the phone call, President Aoun thanked Chancellor Stocker for Austria’s participation in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and for the role it plays in the mission’s operations.
