Lebanon’s Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal received, at his Yarzeh office, the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General on the Middle East conflict and its consequences, Jean Arnault.
The meeting discussed the general situation and developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as the importance of the army’s role within the framework agreement.
During the meeting, Arnault praised the Lebanese Army’s efforts to maintain stability in Lebanon, commending its sacrifices in the face of difficulties.
Major General Haykal also received Vice Speaker Elias Bou Saab and National Defense Minister Major General Michel Menassa, with whom he reviewed the latest developments, as well as issues related to the general amnesty law and those concerning the military institution.
The army commander also received the head of the Defense, Interior, and Municipalities Parliamentary Committee, MP Jihad Samad, with whom he discussed the current developments.
MP Samad hailed the sacrifices of the military institution, stressing the importance of rallying around the army.
