Norwegian Ambassador visits Aoun, reaffirms support for Lebanon’s sovereignty
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun met Norwegian Ambassador Hilde Haraldstad to discuss developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
Haraldstad reaffirmed Norway’s support for the Lebanese president and government’s efforts to extend state authority across the country, particularly in the south, and for the process launched following the framework agreement reached through Lebanese-US-Israeli negotiations in Washington. She also expressed Norway’s readiness to provide humanitarian and social assistance to address displacement caused by the bombardment of southern Lebanese towns and villages.
