Makhzoumi backs Aoun, calls framework agreement historic opportunity
MP Fouad Makhzoumi said after meeting President Joseph Aoun on Monday that the framework agreement announced in Washington represents a historic opportunity to restore state sovereignty and place arms and decisions of war and peace exclusively under state authority.
Makhzoumi voiced full support for President Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to advance the process, strengthen national unity and rally behind state institutions. He also proposed adopting a national recovery, reconstruction and development plan alongside extending state authority and deploying the Lebanese Army following the handover of Hezbollah’s weapons to the state.
