Finance Minister,Yassine Jaber met with a French delegation led by Fanny Labart to discuss financial and economic reforms, including the banking sector restructuring law and progress in negotiations with the International Monetary Fund.
Jaber reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reforms aimed at restoring confidence in the Lebanese economy and reviving economic activity, stressing that restructuring the banking sector remains a national priority.
Discussions also focused on plans to position Lebanon as a regional trade and logistics corridor through rail, pipeline and border infrastructure projects, as well as efforts to modernize public administration, expand scanning systems at Port of Beirut and advance digital transformation initiatives.
Both sides emphasized that economic recovery, investment attraction and the success of major infrastructure projects depend on a stable and secure environment, while reaffirming the importance of continued Lebanese-French cooperation in support of reform and economic recovery.
