Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar met with Saudi Interior Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, at the ministry’s headquarters in Mecca.
During the meeting, discussions touched on ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the interior ministries of both countries, in addition to several issues of mutual interest, particularly in the areas of security and anti-narcotics cooperation. Joint efforts to address the dangers and consequences of drug trafficking and abuse were also addressed.
Al-Hajjar indicated that Lebanon is facing increasing challenges and ongoing attacks that require intensified joint efforts to support stability and safeguard security.
The minister reaffirmed Lebanon’s solidarity with its Arab brethrens during the sensitive period facing the region and expressed hope for continued Arab support for Lebanon amidst current circumstances.
Al-Hajjar also praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts in serving pilgrims and the comprehensive organization and facilities provided to ensure they perform their Hajj rituals with ease, safety, and peace of mind.
