A delegation from the Strong Lebanon bloc visited President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace and briefed him on contacts held with political parties regarding the bloc’s Lebanon Protection Proposal.
MP Cesar Abi Khalil said the delegation sensed clear presidential support for dialogue efforts and reaffirmed the Free Patriotic Movement’s backing for the negotiation track, while stressing that diplomacy remains the only available path to secure a ceasefire and protect Lebanon.
The delegation also condemned campaigns targeting the presidency, describing the position of the president as a red line.
Talks additionally covered the proposed general amnesty law, with both sides emphasizing the need to address injustices through legal and judicial mechanisms rather than broad amnesty measures encouraging impunity.
