President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, affirmed that the framework set by Lebanon for the negotiations consists of the Israeli withdrawal from the occupied territories, a ceasefire, the deployment of the Lebanese army along the border, the return of the displaced residents to their villages, and economic and financial assistance for Lebanon, stressing, Anything reported outside of this framework is incorrect.
President Aoun said, It is my duty, stemming from my position and responsibility, to do the impossible and whatever comes at the least cost to stop the war on Lebanon and its people.
President Aoun’s remarks came during his meeting this morning at Baabda Palace with MP Michel Daher along with a delegation from the National Union of Lebanese Farmers.
President Aoun added, We have experienced wars and seen where they have led Lebanon. Can anyone still bear their cost again?
Addressing the delegation, Aoun said, You are deeply rooted in this land because you understand its value. Preserve this connection and pass it on to your children, who are the nation’s true wealth.
The President also affirmed the continuation of efforts with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reopen markets to Lebanese products, and to provide facilitations for farmers inside Lebanon to enable them to continue amid the difficult circumstances Lebanon is going through.
