Photos: Dairy Factories Closed as Authorities Launch Anti-Food Fraud Campaign
The agriculture and industry ministries said they were continuing a nationwide crackdown on dairy factories producing and marketing non-compliant milk products, particularly in the Bekaa region.
The campaign, carried out in coordination with security and judicial authorities, targets factories accused of using vegetable oils and substitute materials in products marketed as natural dairy items such as cheese, labneh and mozzarella.
Authorities said three additional factories in Taanayel were shut down, bringing the total number of closed facilities in the Bekaa to 15, alongside two warehouses in Beirut.
The ministries stressed that inspections and legal measures would continue across Lebanon to combat food fraud, protect consumers and support compliant local producers and livestock farmers.
