Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has received a phone call from Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, who expressed solidarity with the Lebanese people during the difficult circumstances facing Lebanon.
Al-Sharaa also affirmed that the reinforcement of military presence along the Syrian-Lebanese border is solely aimed at strengthening border control and maintaining internal security in Syria, noting that these measures are similar to those taken along the Syrian border with Iraq, and stressing the importance of continued coordination between the two countries.
For his part, Salam thanked the Syrian president for his call and solidarity with the Lebanese people, emphasizing the importance of ongoing consultation and cooperation between Lebanon and Syria.
