The head of the Progressive Socialist Party, MP Taymour Jumblatt, ovisited Lebanese Army Commander, General Rodolph Haykal, at his Yarzeh office.
The visit comes as part of MP Jumblatt’s meetings with the country’s senior officials and political forces aimed to strengthen national unity, keep Lebanon away from regional conflicts, support the Lebanese Army, and address the issue of displacement responsibly.
Jumblatt affirmed his solidarity with the efforts made by the Lebanese Army under the current circumstances, stressing the importance of Lebanese society rallying around the military institution, which implements the government’s decisions, in line with the Taif Agreement regarding restricting weapons to the hands of the Lebanese state.
Jumblatt was accompanied by members of the Democratic Gathering Marwan Hamadeh, Akram Chehayeb, Wael Abou Faour, and Faisal Sayegh, along with the Secretary General of the Progressive Socialist Party, Zafer Nasser, and Jumblatt's advisor, Hossam Harb.
The meeting reportedly addressed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.
