Al Hadath sources reported a French proposal for a ceasefire that calls for Hezbollah to announce a halt to fighting and to lay down its weapons, and for the Lebanese army to enter the southern suburbs of Beirut.
The proposal also stipulates that Hezbollah hands over its weapons within two weeks, and that Lebanon declares its readiness to enter direct peace negotiations, according Al Hadath sources.
Meanwhile, sources close to Hezbollah told Al Hadath: “The word now belongs to the battlefield, and we reject any proposal for negotiations,” adding: “We will confront any raid on our weapon depots just like any Israeli attack.”
