Aoun meets Abou El-Hosn, discuss national dialogue and Upper Metn solar project
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received Democratic Gathering bloc Secretary MP Hadi Abou El-Hosn at Baabda Palace, where discussions focused on developments in Lebanon and the region, national dialogue and development projects.
The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening dialogue among Lebanon’s various political and sectarian communities and identifying common ground to reinforce national unity amid mounting regional tensions.
Particular attention was given to the potential risks and repercussions of renewed military confrontation between the United States and Iran, and the need to safeguard Lebanon against the consequences of regional escalation.
Discussions also addressed several development initiatives, foremost among them the proposed solar power generation project in Upper Metn.
With the project’s technical study completed, preparations are underway to launch the initiative and proceed toward implementation.
The project is expected to support development across Upper Metn’s towns and villages, enhance local stability and help meet part of the area’s electricity needs.
