Could Rain Make an August Appearance?
The Meteorological Department of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation forecast that tomorrow's weather will be partly cloudy with dense fog, particularly over the northern mountains, with no change in temperatures.
The bulletin stated the following:
General conditions: A humid and relatively hot summer weather pattern is prevailing over Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin, with temperatures above seasonal averages inland and over the mountains. This will continue until Friday, when the region will be affected by moderate air masses that will lead to a drop in temperatures, particularly inland and over the mountains, with a chance of light rain early Saturday accompanied by increased wind speeds.
Average August temperatures: Tripoli 24 to 32°C, Beirut 25 to 33°C, and Zahle 18 to 35°C.
Expected weather in Lebanon:
Tuesday: Clear to partly cloudy with fog over the mountains and no significant change in temperatures.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy with dense fog, particularly over the northern mountains, and no change in temperatures.
Thursday: Partly cloudy to partly overcast with dense fog over the mountains. Temperatures will remain unchanged along the coast while rising slightly inland and over the mountains.
Friday: Partly cloudy to occasionally overcast with dense fog over the mountains and a notable drop in temperatures, particularly over the mountains and inland. Winds will occasionally strengthen, causing higher waves. Caution is advised due to rougher seas and water currents. Conditions will also become favorable for light rain early Saturday, particularly in northern areas.
Temperatures: 23 to 33°C along the coast, 17 to 32°C over the mountains, and 20 to 37°C inland
Surface winds: Southwesterly during the day and southeasterly at night, ranging from 10 to 30 km/h
Visibility: Moderate along the coast and occasionally reduced over the mid-altitude mountains due to fog
Relative humidity along the coast: 50% to 75%
Sea conditions: Low waves, with a sea surface temperature of 29°C
Atmospheric pressure: 757 mmHg
