Tourism and State Authority in Focus at Baabda
President Joseph Aoun told U.N. Tourism Secretary-General Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais that Lebanon remains, despite the difficult circumstances it has endured, a destination of choice for Arab and foreign tourists because of its distinctive attributes.
Aoun said the Lebanese state is working to develop the tourism sector alongside other sectors that constitute pillars of the national economy.
Separately, Beirut Bar Association President Imad Martinos said from Baabda Palace that the association supports state legitimacy, the state and its institutions, and stands by the presidency in its decisions.
Martinos expressed hope that the Rome negotiations would achieve their objectives, foremost among them the return of prisoners, Israel’s withdrawal and the extension of state authority across all Lebanese territory.
