Berri leads a series of meetings
Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received World Bank Regional Director for the Middle East Dalia Khalifa and an accompanying delegation at the second presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh on a protocol visit marking her assumption of her new duties.
The meeting was attended by World Bank Group Country Manager for Lebanon Enrique Blanco Armas and included a review of the Bank’s programs and projects in Lebanon, particularly those related to reconstruction.
Berri also received Defense Minister Michel Menassa for talks on the general situation, particularly conditions within the military institution, as well as political and field developments in light of Israel’s continued attacks, demolitions and destruction of villages and homes, and the burning of agricultural and forested areas in southern Lebanon and the Western Bekaa.
Among Berri’s other visitors was a delegation from Inter Mediate, a British non-governmental organization specializing in conflict resolution.
