Aoun Heads to Washington
President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun and First Lady Nehmat Aoun left Beirut this morning for Washington, at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.
A Lebanese-American summit will be held at the White House.
President Aoun will also hold meetings and consultations with a number of US officials to discuss the situation in Lebanon and ways to consolidate the ceasefire, restore security and stability throughout Lebanon, particularly in the south, ensure Israel’s withdrawal from the Lebanese territories it occupies, and extend the authority of the state over all areas.
