Education Minister reassures students and staff following Israeli attack near Baalbek school
Minister of Education and Higher Learning Rima Karami reassured students and staff of Al-Bashaer Secondary School, affiliated with the Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association in Baalbek, following an Israeli attack on a nearby area, an incident the region had not witnessed for a long time. Karami praised the school’s measures, taken in cooperation with parents, to ensure students’ safety and support their psychological well-being.
Meanwhile, Director General of Secondary Education Khaled Fayad, Director General of Basic Education Georges Daoud, and Head of the Private Education Department Imad Al-Ashqar recalled Memorandums No. 36 and 40, issued in light of Israel’s expanding attacks. They emphasized that no school is bound to a specific date for holding Grade 9 (Brevet) examinations and that exams should be conducted only when security conditions in each area permit.
