MP Bilal Abdallah said Lebanon was doing everything necessary to protect its people and territory, while relying on the US side sponsoring Lebanese-Israeli talks to exert maximum pressure on Israel to stop daily attacks and ongoing violence.
Abdallah said issues including Israeli withdrawal, prisoner exchanges and reconstruction would be addressed later if efforts to consolidate the ceasefire succeed.
He described war as a destructive option for Lebanon, stressing that the state was trying to ease the impact of the ongoing conflict.
On the proposed general amnesty law, Abdallah said discussions remained positive despite additional consultations aimed at reaching a balanced consensus formula.
