MP Simon Abi Ramia met Civil Defence Director General Brigadier General Imad Khreich to discuss current and future projects aimed at strengthening the role of Lebanon’s Civil Defence and securing its logistical needs.
Abi Ramia reviewed Khreich’s efforts to obtain equipment through cooperation with friendly countries and international donor institutions, stressing the role of parliament in removing obstacles and providing the necessary support to ensure the success of Civil Defence missions.
Abi Ramia also pledged to place his international, particularly European, relations at the service of the directorate to help open new avenues for cooperation and capacity building, while praising Khreich’s scientific and methodical approach to managing projects and developing the institution.
Discussions also focused on the Jbeil district, including its operational needs and the geographic distribution of Civil Defence centers to ensure comprehensive coverage across the area.
