The Interior Ministry said it would not permit two planned gatherings outside the Beirut Palace of Justice after organizers failed to obtain the required authorization.
In a statement, the ministry said calls circulating on social media had promoted the protests, but the organizers had not submitted prior notification to the Beirut governor in line with procedures under Decision No. 1024 of March 29, 2006. It added that, in order to safeguard internal stability amid a sensitive period requiring heightened awareness and national responsibility, the gatherings would be prohibited.
The ministry tasked Beirut governor and the Internal Security Forces with enforcing the decision, with coordination with the Lebanese Army as needed.
