Salam Calls for Awareness and Rejection of Hate Speech
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam wrote on X that no matter how deep political differences may be, and while I remain committed to freedom of expression, I have always warned against slipping into forms of expression that involve personal insults, defamation, bullying, and accusations of treason—all of which are condemnable and contribute to fueling tensions and inflaming divisions.
He added: I urge my fellow citizens to exercise the highest level of awareness and reject hate speech, in order to prevent dragging the country into an atmosphere of strife with unpredictable consequences.
