Bilal Abdallah backs U.S. efforts, urges swift talks under national safeguards
MP Bilal Abdallah praised efforts made by US President Donald Trump and the United States to push for de-escalation and a ceasefire in Lebanon, while noting it has yet to hold.
In an interview, he stressed that negotiations are essential and should proceed quickly to limit losses, but within clear priorities: consolidating the ceasefire, Israeli withdrawal, the return of detainees, and reconstruction.
Abdallah warned that Lebanon must act cautiously, safeguarding national unity, and cannot afford to concede all its leverage despite its limited position.
