Information Minister Paul Morcos assured that Radio Lebanon's archive is a priceless national treasure and a rich cultural heritage preserving the country's artistic, musical, and broadcasting history, and is part of the wider Arab world’s media memory.
Speaking during a radio interview, Morcos said the archive represents a key pillar for revitalizing and advancing the station’s role. He stressed that the Information Ministry places great importance on preserving this valuable collection, noting that this is achieved through cooperation with the Central Bank Governor who responded positively by delegating a representative to receive the archive. A formal handover record was organized, and a copy was retained to ensure that Radio Lebanon can access and use the materials easily and effectively, the Minister explained.
Morcos indicated that this step marks an important milestone in protecting a national cultural asset that Lebanon takes pride in, and forms part of broader efforts to reactivate the station's role.
Radio is in the spotlight today, and with the emphasis placed on it in the next phase, you will hear Radio Lebanon more and more, with a clearer and wider presence, Morcos reassured.
