On the occasion of World Quds Day, Hezbollah deputy chief Naim Qassem called on all Arab and Muslim peoples, as well as freedom-loving nations worldwide, to stand with Jerusalem and Palestine. He emphasized that defending Lebanon against what he described as “brutal Israeli-American aggression” is a matter of self-preservation and national dignity.
Qassem said Hezbollah’s response follows 15 months of continuous attacks on Lebanon, claiming the group had repeatedly warned that its patience had limits. He described the current operations as part of a “just defense,” referring to the ongoing confrontations with Israel as the “Operation Devoured Chaff”, framing it as a defensive effort to protect Lebanese territory, civilians, and national honor.
He stressed that Hezbollah’s military actions are a reaction to aggression, not the cause of the conflict, and criticized the Lebanese government for perceived concessions that, in his view, embolden Israel. Qassem claimed that Hezbollah has learned from previous conflicts and now operates with mobile tactics, targeting Israeli soldiers while minimizing fixed positions.
Qassem also sent a message to the fighters, praising their dedication and willingness to sacrifice, stating that the group’s strength comes from faith, resolve, and preparedness, not solely military power. He reiterated Hezbollah’s commitment to continue resisting Israeli actions and warned that the enemy would not achieve its objectives in Lebanon.
He concluded by urging a full cessation of Israeli attacks, the release of prisoners, and the start of reconstruction, asserting that the aggression, and not Hezbollah, is responsible for the destruction in Lebanon.
